The Bulls are planning to host Charlotte free agent Malik Allen, a 6-foot-10 power forward, at the Berto Center today.

Allen, 27, spent parts of four seasons with Miami. A good face-up shooter, Allen?s best year was 2002-03 when he averaged 9.6 points and 5.3 boards.

Now that restricted free agent Chris Duhon has signed an offer sheet with Toronto, the Bulls know how much of their mid-level exception will be left to spend on other free agents. The Bulls are taking a close look at Allen and Atlanta?s Tom Gugliotta, a favorite of coach Scott Skiles.

Bulls general manager John Paxson said Monday he expects to reach an agreement soon to re-sign power forward Othella Harrington, but he wasn?t ready to say the same for swingman Adrian Griffin, another free agent the Bulls are hoping to re-sign.

The Bulls have made little progress in negotiations with restricted free agents Tyson Chandler, Eddy Curry and Jannero Pargo. Chandler?s agent, Jeff Schwartz, may be waiting to see if Atlanta?s large offer to Joe Johnson falls through before committing to the Bulls.

?I?ve had very good discussions with Jeff,? Paxson said. ?We plan on meeting sometime in the next 10 days. I hope to accomplish something when we meet.?
