Alvin Williams is facing yet another watershed moment in his struggle to play in the NBA again.

The veteran Raptor guard, on the shelf since November surgery to shave bone spurs from his chronically injured right knee, hopes to take part in a full-contact scrimmage at practice today, if his knee is okay after a spirited series of one-on-one workouts with Mike James and Darrick Martin yesterday.

"This is what I do," he said. "If the team was 0-81 and I could play in the last game, I'm going to play. This is all I've ever done and this is what I've worked so hard to try to do. It's even more of a motivating factor if I can come and try to help the team win more games.

"I'm never going to pack it in."
