Matt Barnes said the Jazz weren't ready for what the Warriors had for them defensively. The NBA's best team probably wasn't ready for Barnes, either.

Making just his second start of the season in place of ailing Mickael Pietrus, Barnes scored a career-high 24 points, including 17 in the third quarter, to lead Golden State to a 91-78 victory on Saturday night.

"We had to try something new to cover one of the hottest teams in the league," coach Don Nelson said. "Who would have ever thought ... we'd be able to come in here and beat the best team in the West? Tonight the basketball gods were looking down on us."
