Either Friday against Boston or Saturday night against New York, Morris Peterson is expected to return to action after sitting out since Nov. 22 with a partially torn tendon in his left elbow.

And then things will get interesting, as the Toronto Raptors will face their first serious round of trade speculation.

Prior to his injury Peterson had struggled, prompting the cell phones of both Raptors president Bryan Colangelo and Peterson's agent, Rob Pelinka to light up.

"It's ambulance chasing," said Colangelo of the interest. "Other teams are looking for an opportunity."

Colangelo says he has no plans to trade the seven-year veteran.

"It's not our intention," he said. "Everything in our planning for this group had Morris plugged in as a key component, and I'd like to think he'll get there.

"But that's not to say a deal couldn't happen. You're always looking to improve your team, but I'm not actively pursuing a deal for Morris Peterson."
