Thabo Sefolosha wasn't unstoppable like Ben Gordon. He did not do anything particularly great Tuesday, but he showed he can do a little of anything.

He played and defended on the wing. He ran the point and guarded Steve Nash. That versatility is what had Phoenix as the only team coveting him in June draft as much as Chicago did.

The Suns could not move up from Nos. 21 and 27 with a deal, but Chicago swapped up from No. 16 to 13 to snag the Swiss swingman.

"They told my agent they were really interested," Sefolosha said.

"They like to run and have a very open style and have foreign players. That's why I'd fit them well because I would play one, two or three and guard different people."

The Suns offered the picks, cash and other combinations but could not move up, even trying as high as No. 7 with Boston. Ultimately, the Suns traded their picks because they felt there was a considerable drop-off once their list of top players was gone when Rodney Carney was taken at No. 16.

"We thought he (Sefolosha) would be good," Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said. "We're going to use the draft to get a guy who'd be very prominent in what we're doing. So when we couldn't do that, obviously we just folded our tent and passed."
