With starters Grant Hill (appendectomy) and Steve Nash (flu) at home in the Valley after each left a hospital stay Thursday, forward Shawn Marion added to the Suns' woes for Thursday night's game at Utah when he could not play because of a right-elbow bruise and sore right shoulder.

During Wednesday night's game, Marion fell hard after he charged into Indiana's Danny Granger in the fourth quarter and landed on Granger's leg.

Marion arrived early Thursday at EnergySolutions Arena for treatment and tried to get loose during pregame shooting but was too sore.

"It's lucky that it wasn't worse than it was," said Marion, who was optimistic about playing at home Saturday against Milwaukee. "It feels a lot better. (Suns head athletic trainer Aaron Nelson) got into it with treatment. It still hurts, though."

Coach Mike D'Antoni hopes Nash can play Saturday but said Marion's return is more likely.
