Lakers' guard Kobe Bryant announced on Monday that he will undergo surgery to repair damage to his right pinkie finger, according to ESPN.com.

Kobe plans to reveal his plans on his website, KB24.com, at some point and specify the date he intends to have the procedure.

Recovery time is expected to be at least six weeks for Bryant, who averaged 28.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.84 steals while playing in 82 games last season.
