Michael Beasley scored 16 points, including 13 in the third quarter, in his preseason debut for the Miami Heat, who fell to Rodney Stuckey (23 points) and the Detroit Pistons 95-91 on Sunday night in Miami, according to a report by the Detroit News.

Stuckley hit two jumpers in the final 8.8 seconds of regulation and then Detroit started overtime on a 6-0 run to set up the win.

"He's a coachable kid and he's been diligent with his work when he's healthy and able to get out there," Heat Coach Erik Spoelstra said. "But it's going to be a process. It's going to take some time because he doesn't naturally think defense first, and that's pretty normal for a young player, so we'll have to rebuild some habits."
