The Pistons hope to have a contract extension worked out with Jason Maxiell before the end of training camp.

They have offered Maxiell a three-year, $15 million deal with a team option for a fourth season.

Maxiell is one of a handful of players from the 2005 draft class to be offered a contract extension.

"It's not really important right now," Maxiell said. "I'm just going day by day and see how it goes."

RealGM Note: Maxiell was ranked 121st in season FIC during the 2007-08 season and 'deserved' a salary of $5.67 million.
