Ben Gordon revealed on Saturday that he tried to accept the six year, $55 million deal that the Chicago Bulls had on the table before he finally signed the one year, qualifying offer, but the team had informed Gordon's agent the day before that the offer had been removed from the table, Mike McGraw of the Daily Herald is reporting.

According to multiple sources, the Bulls were told Gordon had no intention of taking the offer, which is why it was rescinded. The offer was on the table for more than two months before Gordon took the qualifying offer.

Asked if he knew the offer was withdrawn, Gordon said several things happened that led him to believe the offer was still on the table.

"I guess it was just a miscommunication of some sort," Gordon said. "Things happen for a reason."
