The Grizziles are happy that they added Quentin Ross for his defensive prowess this past offseason.

"He's a true professional," Memphis GM Chris Wallace said. "He's a low-risk player in terms of him protecting the ball. He takes good shots, and he's developed more of a 3-point shot more than he did with the Clippers. He's helped us."

The Clippers didn't offer Ross a contract to return to the team.

"It was about an opportunity to play and prove my worth in the league," Ross said. "I'm trying to improve my game and this has been good for me."

Ross chose Memphis over Charlotte and Washington.

"It was unfortunate for him," Wallace said, "and a positive for the Grizzlies."
