The Pacers, already hemorrhaging money, will have to decide by June 30 whether or not to pick up the $7.4 million option on the contract of Marquis Daniels for next season.

"I'm not even concerned about it right now," team president Larry Bird said. "When the season is over, we have a lot of things we have to look at and see where we stand. There's the draft, too. But now we're just trying to get in the playoffs.

"He's playing well and we'll take a look at it at the end of the season."

The salary cap will be lower next season and the Pacers have several players that play Daniels' position, but he has shown his value this year.

"First of all, he's a great guy to be around," Pacers coach Jim O'Brien said. "He's very, very professional, and really has a terrific understanding of the game and what we're trying to accomplish. And he is very productive at both ends of the court."
