Carmelo Anthony hit a three-pointer with one second left in regulation to give the Nuggets a dramatic 106-105 win over the Mavericks on Saturday afternoon.

Before Anthony sank the game-winning shot, Antoine Wright tried twice to commit a foul on Anthony but the referees did not blow the whistle.  In a highly unusual turn of events, the NBA issued an official statement after the game admitting that the refereeing crew missed the call.

"At the end of the Dallas-Denver game this evening, the officials missed an intentional foul committed by Antoine Wright on Carmelo Anthony, just prior to Anthony's three-point basket," NBA executive Joel Litvin said in the statement.

The Nuggets are now one win away from an appearance in the Western Conference Finals.

Chauncey Billups had 32 points for the Nuggets, while Anthony contributed 31 points and 8 rebounds in the victory.

Denver has a 3-0 lead over Dallas in their semifinal series.

Dirk Nowitzki starred with 33 points and 16 rebounds, but missed shots on back-to-back possessions at the end of the game.

The game, at American Airlines Center, was close throughout, with neither team outscoring the other by more than four points in any of the contest's four quarters.
