Lakers owner Jerry Buss says he's prepared to spend as much as he needs in order to contend in the future.

This season, the Lakers have a $91.3 million payroll. In addition to that, Buss will have to pay $21.4 million in luxury tax for going over the NBA's threshold.

Buss told NBA.com that he is willing to give Kobe Bryant a three-year, $91 million extension and that he wants coach Phil Jackson to return next season.

Jackson is making $12 million in the final year of his contract.
