The Nets will break ground on their Brooklyn Arena on Thursday. Most people expect the Nets to become a more attractive destination upon their arrival in Brooklyn from New Jersey.

Former Nets guard Jason Kidd anticipates the arena delay as hurting the club in free agency.

"If the building was built it would help rival [the Knicks] in the sense of landing someone," Kidd said. "If you have to wait two or three years to play and stay in New Jersey, it might be a little tough to sign that first wave of guys: [Chris] Bosh or [Dwyane] Wade or LeBron [James]."
