On Thursday, Jeff Green expressed his desire to sign a contract extension this summer and continue his career with the Thunder.

"I'd love to," Green told The Oklahoman. "It's a great thing going here."

The Thunder can re-sign Green to an extension of up to five years.

"When that time comes it comes," Green said. "I'm worried about what we got this season, and I've got to focus on what we're trying to accomplish this season. I can't worry about what's going to take place this summer."

Green squashed any small-market theory that assumes he wouldn't be open to re-signing in Oklahoma City. Green said he doesn't have any problem committing to the Thunder for the foreseeable future.

"Not at all," Green said. "This is a great city to play in. The basketball atmosphere is great, and it's a great place to raise a family. So I wouldn't mind."

RealGM Note: Green is currently ranked 72nd in season FIC with a modest FIC40 of 10.3. He 'deserves' David West's salary of just under $9.1 million, giving him a Reina Value of +158%.

Green's agent is likely to use LaMarcus Aldridge's five-year, $65 million extension with Portland as a target. Alridge will make $11.2 million in the first year of his new deal.

But Green's production across the board is less than Aldridge's and he is more likely to sign a deal similar to ones signed by Rajon Rondo ($55 million) or Andrea Bargnani ($50 million).
