Nets president Rod Thorn has begun the process of finding the team's next head coach.

Thorn said on Monday that he expects to return to the team next season.

"The real work for this franchise starts now. No. 1, you get a coach. No. 2 is you see what will transpire in free agency. No. 3, [work with] some of our players who have improved that will stand us in good stead as we go forward," said Thorn. "We're concerned about the draft right now, looking for a coach."

Thorn claims that he has yet to interview any candidates.

One rival executive said he feels Thorn likely will put a premium on past playing experience.

"I could see Rod going for an assistant, especially one who has played," the executive said. "Rod likes former players."
