Grizzlies forward Rudy Gay will be a restricted free-agent next month and the Timberwolves are one team that is expected to target him.

Gay is among the second tier of free agents this summer, behind superstars like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

Minnesota owner Glen Taylor and president David Kahn have already targeted Gay as an attainable player, according to Ronald Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

Memphis owner Michael Heisley continues to insist that Gay will be a member of the Grizzlies next season. The team has the right to match any offer Gay gets because of his restricted status.
