A lawyer for the Kings has filed a $4 million product liability suit over an exercise ball that burst in October 2009, injuring swingman Francisco Garcia.

The suit seeks compensation for expenses the Kings paid to Garcia for the games he missed because of the injury.

Garcia was bench pressing two 90-pound weights while placing his weight on the 75-centimeter exercise ball when it burst, attorney Roger Dreyer said.

He suffered a broken wrist and missed four months during the first year of a five-year contract extension worth $29.6 million.
