Kobe Bryant made a jumper late in the third quarter against the Hornets on Friday night to move him past Oscar Robertson for ninth place on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

Bryant finished with 25 points in the Lakers' 101-97 win over the Hornets.

He now has 26,720 points, just shy of Hakeem Olajuwon's 26,946 points for seventh place.

"It's a huge honor," Bryant said. "So much of my game is built on those that came before me, Oscar in particular. It's a huge honor to be moving up that ladder."

Phil Jackson said prior to Friday's game that if Bryant is targeting anyone on the scoring list it would probably be one of Jackson's former players.

"Michael Jordan," Jackson said. "I would imagine that would be the one."
