On Friday morning, Nate McMillan called Nicolas Batum into his office to tell him that he was putting Marcus Camby back into the starting lineup.

After starting 65 games for the Blazers this season, Batum was going to be coming off the bench.

On Friday evening, Batum responded to his new role by helping the Blazers defeat the Thunder 98-91. Batum finished with 19 points and six rebounds while playing exceptional defense on Kevin Durant, the NBA's leading scorer.

Afterward, LaMarcus Aldridge praised Batum's "selfless" action in embracing a new role off the bench. Camby lauded Batum's defense.
