Isiah Thomas is on the short list of candidates to become the next head coach of the Detroit Pistons, according to sources.

Mike Woodson, Kelvin Sampson and Bill Laimbeer are also candidates.

Thomas, sources say, has been longing to return to the NBA. Thomas would be reunited with former teammate Joe Dumars, who remains with the Pistons as team president.
