Zydrunas Ilgauskas recently exercised his player option for the 11-12 season, but he is still considering retirement.

“If I play, it will be in Miami,” Ilgauskas said Tuesday. “Right now I’m just kind of on the fence.”

Ilgauskas' option is worth $1.4 million.

“I just want to keep my options open,” he said. “Nobody knows what’s going to happen with the season. I figure we’ll take it one day at a time, see how my back is.”

Pat Riley expressed surprise that Ilgauskas may retire.

“I talked with him. We had a good conversation,” Ilgauskas said of Riley. “When that times comes, I’ll have to do what’s best for me and my family. It’s been a long, hard year that was disappointing at the end. Still have not gotten rid of that hangover.”
