The Charlotte Hornets offered Al Jefferson and Spencer Hawes to the Houston Rockets for Dwight Howard.

Howard's agent, Dan Fegan, and the Rockets are working on a trade before the deadline.

Howard can become a free agent this offseason and will command a max contract the Rockets appear hesitant to sign him to.

“I don’t think they want to be left holding the bag," said one rival general manager.

The Miami Heat are also considering a Howard deal.
