The Golden State Warriors have agreed to sign Matt Barnes for the remainder of the season.

The decision to sign Barnes came shortly after Kevin Durant's injury on Tuesday that is expected to rule him out for at least several weeks.

Barnes played two seasons with the Warriors from 2006 until 2008.

The Warriors will still sign Jose Calderon as promised but he will be immediately waived.

"It's a dream come true!" Barnes told The Undefeated's Marc J. Spears. "I feel like I helped start something in '07, and now I'm coming back to help finish it."

In an Instagram post late Tuesday night, Barnes called this "the happiest day of my life" after the birth of his children.

Barnes was waived by the Sacramento Kings before the deadline despite being owed nearly $6.5 million for the 17-18 season. Barnes had hoped to sign with the Warriors before the season but elected not to pass up significantly more money from Sacramento.
