The Houston Rockets were sold to Tilman Feritta for $2.2 billion and Mark Cuban believes it is a good indication of the continuing rise in NBA franchise valuations.

Cuban has had a longtime rivalry with the Rockets since he purchased the Dallas Mavericks but he believes Ferrita bought the franchise at a good price.

"[Fertitta] got a bargain," said Cuban. "The streaming world is going to make destination live content even more valuable. It's much harder to draw an audience over the top with unlimited choices verus TV where we are one of 200 channels."

Cuban was influential in changing the culture of the NBA.

"When I got here, everyone tried to make me go old school and be like everyone else. Owners were supposed to write checks, and that was it."

Cuban purchased the Mavericks in 2000 for $285 million.
