Many coaches and executives around the NBA believe this year's shorter training camp has led to an increase injuries.

The injuries to Gordon Hayward and Chris Paul weren't due to a lack of training camp, but other injuries could have been caused by poor conditioning.

“We went extremely hard because of the shortened training camp,” Jason Kidd said. “We tried to get guys in shape. That’s one of the big things with a shortened camp. There’s a chance of not being in basketball shape, and you see a lot of injuries, a lot of guys out.”

“People say 10 days doesn’t matter,” Erik Spoelstra said. “It does.”
