The Los Angeles Lakers will waive Troy Daniels, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski.

The two sides had been working together to find Daniels more playing time in another situation.

"Rob (Pelinka) and Kurt (Rambis) were fantastic in giving Troy optionality based upon all the scenarios that could play out in the coming weeks," said Daniels' agent Mark Bartelstein.

The Lakers still plan to meet with Dion Waiters, but are in no rush to fill their open roster spot.

March 1st represents the last day that a player can be released and still be playoff eligible after signing with their new team.
