The NBA is expected to have a significant head coaching carousel this offseason, which is getting an early start with the New York Knicks firing David Fizdale in December and the Brooklyn Nets parting ways with Kenny Atkinson this past weekend.

"I was actually out with someone from a team last night charting how many head coaching openings there's going to be this summer and there could be anywhere from seven to 13," said Zach Lowe on his podcast. "There's going to be a lot depending on what happens in the playoffs.

"This seems to happen every few years," replied Kevin Arnovitz. "You have these placid periods where there's not many openings. Teams sort of are situated from a big year. They're giving guys a chance. But this year is one of those..where there's a tsunami of coaching changes."
