If the NBA plays games again to finish out its 19-20 season, sources tell Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer that fans likely won't be in attendance. Players, coaches and other team personnel would also have to undergo regular testing for COVID-19 to prevent community infection.

There are questions as to how the NBA would handle a positive test of a player after play picks back up such as if he would be automatically ruled our for two to three weeks. If multiple players on a team tested positive, play may have to be suspended again altogether.

The NBA is brainstorming a number of potential scenarios. Sources say the NBA could hold a postseason play-in tournament to replace the remainder of the 19-20 regular season as well as shorter playoff series and potentially playing all or some games at a neutral site.

The start of the 20-21 season could be delayed until December or even to 2021.
