Oklahoma City vice president Troy Weaver declined to be apart of the second round of interviews for the then-vacant Chicago Bulls vice president of basketball operations role because he felt it was a "token offer," sources told Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

Weaver was told that the Bulls were already expected to hire Arturas Karnisovas for the role.

Several African-American executives from around the league were frustrated with the Bulls hiring process for the position.

Karnisovas recently said that he plans to hire a person of color as the Bulls general manager.
