The NBA expects that it will need around 15,000 COVID-19 tests to finish out the season, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Adam Silver publicly and privately stated that the league could not take up that amount of tests to resume the season if public demand had yet to be met.

Several manufacturers can assure the NBA of that amount of tests, but cannot guarantee that public demand will have been met. 

The NBA issued a memo on Thursday night informing teams not to test asymptomatic players and staff
