The NBA will begin to test its players as teams begin to ramp up activity before they travel to Orlando for their return-to-play plan. The NBA expects positive COVD-19 tests and will work to ensure players and staff are negative when they actually enter the bubble.

"I think the league has set everything up with the expectation that guys are going to test positive," said Brian Windhorst on his podcast.

"I think the thing that will be interesting is... the NFL tested 200 players within the last week or two. We all saw some teams that tested had some guys test positive. I believe 11 out of 200 of the players tested positive. I'm pretty sure that's five percent, give or take. If the NBA tests, I think they're going to have in the neighborhood of 300 players, plus all of the staff. If the NBA gets a five percent positive return rate, I think they will be thrilled. There's going to be positive tests and when you talk with people in the league, they're like 'Okay, we're not going to freak out if we have 27 players or 35 people test positive. That's good. We're going to get them treatment. We're going to make sure they're okay and we're going to establish our bubble. To establish the bubble, you have to eradicate the bubble.'

"I don't know if this is purposeful or not, but the league has kind of buried this: if you test positive, it is a shutdown for a minimum of 14 days. And that's with no exercise, but that's a different topic."
