NCAA's senior vice president of basketball Dan Gavitt said that there are no current plans to move the 2021 men's basketball tournament.

"Right now, we're still planning on conducting a tournament as scheduled in March and April. That's definitely our preference," said Gavitt.

Gavitt, who pitched a late-October start to the season, added that NCAA officials will continue to make adjustments as necessary.

The NCAA will also allow conferences to give their automatic qualifier to the top team in their division as opposed to a conference tournament.

"As long as basketball is played safely in 2021, we will have a regular season, we will have a tournament. I'm confident in that," said Gavitt.
