Giannis Antetokounmpo "mulled the decision throughout the past couple of weeks," sources tell The Athletic.

Marc Lasry and Wes Edens flew to Chicago on Dec. 12 for a midday meeting with Alex Saratsis, which helped seal the decision for Antetokounmpo.

Antetokounmpo and his camp wanted to win first and foremost and the Bucks sold him on their vision for roster building.

“One day, he’s in 1,000 percent. The next day, he’s asking more questions,” said one source.

The Bucks first formally presented Antetokounmpo the five-year supermax during a December 5th meeting at his home in which Lasry and Edens joined. The meeting also included an appearance from Jon Horst to talk about the roster. The meeting ended with no resolution.

Antetokounmpo never went dark in terms of his communication, which gave the Bucks a continued sense of hope.
