The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to acquire Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans from the Washington Wizards for Kristaps Porzingis.

Dinwiddie was in his first season with the Wizards and had proved to be a bad fit with their roster.

Porzingis has had a productive 21-22 season, but has continued to struggle with injury issues. Porzingis is signed for two more seasons at $33.8 million and $36 million. The Wizards will miss the playoffs following the season-ending surgery from Bradley Beal.

Bertans signed a five-year, $80 million deal with the Wizards in 2020, but has struggled this season.

According to Marc Stein of Substack, the Mavericks spent most of deadline day seeking a trade of Porzingis.
