The Los Angeles Lakers declined an offer from the Houston Rockets of John Wall for Russell Westbrook and a 2027 first round pick, sources told Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.

Wall hasn't played at all this season, but he could conceptually be a better fit for the Lakers than Westbrook.

The Lakers were reportedly working to improve their roster on the margins, but didn't make a trade at the deadline.

The Lakers will scour the buyout market over the next few weeks in hopes of improving their roster.

Wall’s contract is similar to Westbrook’s, making $44 million this season with $47 million scheduled for next season.
