Los Angeles Lakers coach Frank Vogel had some worries about how his team's season might go months ago. Vogel said "It did not look good" about the Lakers as far back as the preseason.

“We were getting killed in the preseason,” Vogel said about Los Angeles 0-6 preseason record. “And it was like, ‘Well, it’s preseason.’ But it’s still the early look at those guys.”

Vogel said the Lakers constant stream of injuries left the team "searching more than adjusting" throughout the season. The longtime NBA coach also said, his team could "never get over the hump" this season before being eliminated from postseason contention on Tuesday.

As for his own future with the Lakers, Vogel is taking a wait-and-see approach. He called the job a "win-now" job for each of his three seasons in LA, but admitted that the speculation of him being fired has weighed on him.

“It’s not easy to shut it out,” Vogel said. “It’s not fun to have those reports hanging over your head or seeing it everywhere you look, especially so early in the season (and) after what we’ve been able to accomplish here. But to me, that pressure of expectation has been here since the day I signed on.”
