The NBA's Play-In Tournament involving the 7-10 seeds in each conference has been a hit. It's been exciting and delivered some fun moments in its first two years. Still, some teams would like for the NBA to consider changes to the format.

Teams have petitioned the league to look into bringing back the "games back" qualifier that existed in the Walt Disney World bubble. In that situation, because the league was playing only eight seeding games before the playoffs, the NBA had decided that there would be a "games back" criterion to force a Play-In game.

Now, teams would like that to return. It was cited that the Minnesota Timberwolves, who finished seventh in the Western Conference, had a four-game lead on the LA Clippers in eighth. Even wider was the Wolves lead over the New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs, of 10 and 12 games respectively.

The NBA is expected to consider tweaks to the Play-In Tournament format, but there likely won't be widespread changes. The league is happy about the impact the Play-In has had on tanking and creating more competitive games down the stretch of the season.
