RJ Barrett, Jamal Murray, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander were announced as part of Canada Basketball's men's roster for the upcoming FIBA World Cup qualifiers.

Each of the 14 players on the roster have agreed to a three-year commitment to the team.

“The true value of chemistry, camaraderie and continuity cannot be overlooked when building any team,” said head coach Nick Nurse in a statement. “By assembling committed core groups of players and staff to represent Canada over the next several years, we firmly believe will position this program for sustained success, both now and in the future.”

Andrew Wiggins hasn't ruled out playing for Canada but has yet to commit to the three-year plan.

Canada are in Group C in the qualifying stage, alongside the US Virgin Islands, Bahamas, and the Dominican Republic.

The upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup is set to take place from August 25 to September 10, 2023.
