Kevin Durant is monitoring the Brooklyn Nets' situation as they work on retaining Kyrie Irving, which has led Durant to consider the options available to him for his future.

Kyrie Irving will now have a path to find a new home via an opt-in and trade, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The Nets have been resistant to sign Irving to a long-term contract this offseason.

Durant and Irving signed with the Nets in 2019.

According to EPSN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Durant has not yet informed the Nets that he plans to request a trade if the team loses Irving.
