The Houston Rockets plan to pick up their team option for Jae'Sean Tate for the 2022-23 season. Tate will be on Houston's books for $1,782,621 for next season.

Tate has blossomed with the Rockets. He started in 77 of his 78 appearances in 2021-22, after starting in 58 of his 70 games in his rookie season.

Last year Tate averaged 11.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 26.4 minutes per game. He was also the Rockets best wing defender on most nights.

Houston will have the ability to make Tate a restricted free agent in the summer of 2023. This upcoming year will be the third and final season of the three-year deal Tate signed with the Rockets in 2020.
