Golden State Warriors president of basketball operations Bob Myers is notably working without a contract that extends past this season. Myers and the Warriors have been unable to agree to terms to extend his deal over the past several months.

The sense some are getting is that Myers is poised to leave Golden State later this week. Myers reportedly wouldn't be leaving over money or relationships. The Warriors (players and non-players) all want Myers back, and they are willing to pay handsomely to retain him.

Myers is reportedly looking to take a break from the NBA. He's run the Warriors front office for the last nine seasons and could be looking to step back from the NBA for a while. Should that happen, Golden State is expected to promote Mike Dunleavy Jr. to run the team's basketball operations.
