When Damian Lillard first became available this offseason, the Miami Heat initially offered a trade package to the Portland Trail Blazers including Tyler Herro and two first round picks, sources tell Marc J. Spears of ESPN.

The Heat and Blazers have had no substantial trade conversations throughout the period. Miami is Lillard's preferred destination. There has been some speculation that the Heat are not desperate to trade for Lillard considering his age, contract and the possibility of future stars becoming available via trade.

The Toronto Raptors are reportedly the current frontrunners to acquire Lillard, who is considered likely to be traded before Portland's media day on October 2nd.
