While Steve Kerr defended Draymond Green in his postgame comments after he was ejected for grabbing Rudy Gobert by the neck, the longtime Golden State Warriors coach walked back his comments on Thursday in response to the NBA's decision to suspend Green for five games.

"He took it too far," Kerr said ahead of the Warriors' game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. "Draymond was wrong. He knows that. It's a bad look, and the five games are deserved."

The altercation between the Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves began with Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels. Gobert separated Thompson from McDaniels before Green grabbed Gobert to get him off Thompson.

"I don't have a problem with [Green] trying to get Rudy off of Klay ... but he's got to let go," Kerr said. "He hung on for six, seven seconds. It was a terrible visual for the league, for Draymond and for everybody."
