The Houston Rockets were set to sign Brook Lopez last summer before Lopez decided to re-sign with the Milwaukee Bucks, sources told Bobby Marks of ESPN.

The Rockets signed several veteran free agents over the offseason, including Fred VanVleet, Jeff Green, Jock Landale, Aaron Holiday, and Boban Marjanovic.

Lopez, who is averaging 12.8 points and 5.0 rebounds on the season, signed a two-year, $48 million deal with the Bucks.

Current Rockets center Alperen Sengun is averaging 21.5 points and 9.0 rebounds on the season.
