The NBA remains in talks to purchase an equity stake in ESPN, sources tell Michael McCarthy of FrontOfficeSports.

The New York Post reported last week that the NFL was in "advanced talks" to purchase a piece of ESPN.

The NBA and ESPN are also in talks on a new media right deal. The league hopes to double its combined rights to $50 billion over nine years.

Financial analysts believe ESPN would be valued at approximately $24 billion on the open market.
