The Los Angeles Lakers will not pursue trading for a third player on a max contract unless he is an All-NBA-caliber talent, a source told ESPN's Bobby Marks.

There are no players currently on the trade market fitting that description and the Lakers do not possess the trade assets needed to get in on that type of conversation if there was.

The Lakers have 13 players earning from $1.1 million to $17.3 million this season.

When Zach LaVine hit the trade market, the Lakers reportedly only had tepid interest. They have also been linked with Dejounte Murray, who is on a contract well below the max.
