Trae Young To Miss At Least 1 Game With Sprained Ankle

Dec 27, 2019 11:57 PM

Trae Young will miss at least one game after spraining his ankle during the Atlanta Hawks' 112-86 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

An x-ray on Young's ankle returned negative, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.

Young was helped off the floor in the second quarter.

"I rolled it pretty bad," Young said. "It hurts pretty bad right now, but that's to be expected. I'm getting treatment on it and iced it already."

Young will miss the Hawks game against the Bulls on Saturday.

Hawks Interested In Trading For Steven Adams

Dec 22, 2019 4:08 PM

The Atlanta Hawks have internally discussed the possibility of trading for Steven Adams.

Adams is due to make $27 million next season before becoming a free agent in 2021. Adams signed an extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2016.

The Thunder are expected to embark on a rebuild and Adams is at an age where he could conceivably be young enough to remain part of their long-term plans.

The Hawks have identified center as a position of need.

Lloyd Pierce Not Currently In Danger Of Losing Job As Head Coach Of Hawks

Dec 18, 2019 2:55 PM

Lloyd Pierce is not currently in danger of losing his job as head coach of the Atlanta Hawks despite their continued struggles to begin the 19-20 season, sources tell Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.

The Hawks now have a 6-22 record on the season. There has also been turmoil as teammates have complained to each other about selfishness.

John Collins is set to return next week from his 25-game suspension. If the Hawks continue to struggle when Collins returns, then the pressure on Pierce will increase.

David Fizdale Turned Down Suns, Hawks, Hornets To Take Knicks' Job

Dec 11, 2019 11:20 AM

David Fizdale turned down several offers from other NBA teams without having an assurance the New York Knicks would hire him, which was an indicator of how badly he wanted the job.

The Atlanta Hawks and Phoenix Suns offered Fizdale their head coaching jobs, while he also could have become head coach of the Charlotte Hornets.

Fizdale ultimately signed a four-year, $22 million deal with the Knicks.

Fizdale's first order of business was to establish a relationship with Kristaps Porzingis, but he never coached him. Porzingis was traded at the 2019 deadline and Porzingis was fired less than 12 months later.
