Mark Cuban In Favor Of Moving The Three-Point Line Back

Feb 27, 2016 12:39 PM

Mark Cuban is suggesting the NBA should move the three-point line back.

"It's getting too close," Cuban said. "Guys are shooting a foot behind it anyways. ... That's something we should look at. It's worth looking at.

The 3-point arc is 23 feet, 9 inches at the crest and 22 feet in the corners.

"I don't think the number of shots would decline, but I think it would reward skill and open up the court some more. So guys would still take [3-point] shots if it's seven inches back or whatever, but at the same time, it opens up the court for more drives, more midrange game."

Cuban believes moving the line back would create more spacing of the game.

"I think it'd open it up more so guys with different skill sets could play," Cuban said. "It would open up play for more drives. Guys with midrange games would be rewarded and that would stay in the game. There would be more diversity of offensive action in the game.

"You'd see a little bit of decline in the 3. I'm not saying it's a bad thing that we shoot so many 3s, but it's worth it in the D-League to see what happens [with a deeper 3-point line]."

Chandler Parsons Looking Forward To Recruiting Dwight Howard

Feb 3, 2016 7:29 PM

Chandler Parsons and Dwight Howard have recently rekindled their friendship.

Parsons played a big role in recruiting Howard to the Houston Rockets in 2013 before he signed with the Dallas Mavericks in 2014.

Parsons plans on helping the Mavericks with their recruiting efforts for Howard.

“For sure,” Parsons said. “I’m talking to him (routinely), obviously, and we share the same agent with Dan Fegan … Obviously I have a really close relationship with Dwight and one year wasn’t enough playing with him in Houston. I was a big reason why he went there, so I’ll have to revisit that when the time is appropriate. The relationship I had with him, and making him feel comfortable, that was big (in Houston).

“We still talk all the time … We’re friends, on and off the court. And I don’t just do it because he’s a free agent. It’s just a relationship we’ve built over the years. He still has a lot left in the tank. You look at the playoffs last year, and he was dominant … When he’s healthy he can go, and he’s one of the most dominant players in the league, so I’m a big fan of his game.”
